Privacy Policy for Pressto

Pressto ("the app", "we", "us") is developed by Cosmic Coder ("the developer"). This Privacy Policy explains what happens to your data when you use Pressto.

The Short Version

How Pressto Works With Your Files

Pressto is a share-sheet utility. You can share a photo or PDF to Pressto (or select one from within the app), compress it on-device, and immediately save or share the smaller version.

• Local processing only. Image compression, PDF compression, and optional page rasterization all happen entirely on your device. Your files are never uploaded because Pressto does not operate a backend server.
• Saving files. When you tap Save, the compressed file is written to your device's Downloads folder using Android's MediaStore system. The Downloads folder is managed by Android—not by Pressto.
• Sharing files. When you tap Share, Android's native share sheet opens so you can send the compressed file using apps such as Gmail, WhatsApp, or others. Pressto does not intercept, monitor, or retain any shared content.

Information Stored on Your Device

Pressto keeps a local history of previous compressions so you can revisit them later. This history includes:

• File name
• Original file size
• Compressed file size
• Local file path
• Date of compression

This history:

• Is stored entirely on your device.
• Is never uploaded or synchronized.
• Can be deleted individually from the History tab.
• Is removed permanently if you uninstall the app or clear its data.

Pressto does not require user accounts or sign-in. We do not collect your name, email address, or any other personal identity information.

Advertising

Pressto is supported by advertisements served through Google AdMob, including banner ads and occasional full-screen interstitial ads.

Google AdMob may collect technical information such as:

• Advertising Identifier
• IP address
• Device information
• App interaction data

This information is collected and processed by Google—not by Pressto— for advertising and measurement purposes, including personalized ads where applicable.

You can review or reset your advertising identifier and manage personalized advertising preferences in Android under: Settings → Privacy → Ads.

Permissions Pressto Uses

• Receiving shared files — to allow photos and PDFs to be shared into Pressto.
• MediaStore storage access — only when you explicitly save a compressed file.
• Internet access — required solely for loading Google AdMob advertisements.

Pressto does not request access to your camera, microphone, contacts, location, SMS, or phone calls.

Children's Privacy

Pressto is not directed toward children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, please contact us so we can address the situation.

Data Retention & Deletion

Because Pressto has no backend server, there are no server-side copies of your files or compression history.

All stored information remains entirely on your own device.

• Delete individual history entries from the History tab.
• Uninstall the app to remove all locally stored data.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as Pressto evolves or introduces additional features or third-party services. Any significant changes will be reflected by updating the Last updated date shown at the top of this page.
